A sustainable cooking competition by the Real Food Collaborative

Sunday (Feb 26th 2012) 4pm at the SLO Museum of Art

Our definition of ‘real’ food: local, organic, fresh, just, transparent.

If you don’t already know what Green Chef is, check out the description below or on Facebook!

Think Iron Chef meets Cal Poly meets sustainability! If you sign up to be a chef you will receive an email with what the secret ingredient is, and then receive the ingredient with two full days to prepare a dish for a chance to win prizes for taste, creativity, or sustainability. Don’t want to cook? Come, and for less than the cost of a movie ticket you will get to hear presenters, live music, TRY ALL OF THE FOOD, and vote on who you think should win!

  • Judges: Want to taste all the mouthwatering creative things people make? As a judge you will try every dish and get to enjoy live music and some guest speakers. It’s a gourmet dinner and more for $7-$10 (sliding scale donation). Judges tickets are sold on a first come, first serve basis, so come early! If you don’t want to judge, everyone is welcome to attend at no cost for the music, speakers, and conversation.
  • Chefs: Receive the ‘secret ingredient’ and prepare a dish of your choice (to be cooked at your home and brought to the event). Be creative and have fun in the kitchen! Teams are allowed.

CHEF SIGN UPS ARE CLOSED

There’s always next time though and you can still be a judge!
